Dear Fran, Love Dulcie is on pre-order
I gave Julie Haigh (Top 1000 Amazon reviewer) an advance copy of Dear Fran, Love Dulcie and chewed my fingernails while I waited for feedback.
“Stunning,” she said when she’d finished it. “I usually start a new book as soon as I finish one. I couldn’t with this – I just had to sit and think for a bit. It was too important.”
That was exactly how I felt. Dulcie’s letters had that same effect on me.
“Wow. Goosebumps,” said Elizabeth Moore, another Top 1000 Amazon reviewer.
I knew then that I was publishing something very special. Until last year, I’d never heard of Fran, or Dulcie, but now they both occupy my thoughts so much that I have abandoned my own writing and won’t start again until these precious letters are out there for all the world to read.
Imagine what life was like on a pineapple farm, miles from the nearest town. Imagine having no electricity, or telephone, or doctors nearby. Imagine being bombarded by all Australia’s extremes: drought, bushfires, floods, cyclones, dingo attacks.
Then imagine Dulcie, married at 17, running the farm, often single-handedly.

This book is not just a collection of letters, it’s a piece of Australian history. And I’m proud to have a part in showing it to the world.
It’s on Amazon pre-order now.

I hope it blows your mind as much as it did mine! Each book purchased will help support Careflight, an Australian aero-medical charity that attends emergencies, however remote.
